Welcome to the town of Halstead in Essex, the name Halstead comes from the Old English words hald (refuge, shelter) and stede (site, place), meaning 'safe place' or 'place of refuge'.

After the successful campaign for broadband in Halstead in 2003 by Connect Halstead, the website is making a big return in January 2009. Helping to put Halstead onto the Internet and promote the town, tourism and local businesses in the town.
